Couple Weds in Fifth Avenue Apple Store

This past Valentine’s day will now forever be associated with the geek trivia item as the first wedding to take place in an Apple retail store. Joshua Li and Ya Ting Li  actually met while shopping for iPods in the first place so the wedding locale is quite apropos.

Apparently the minster was dressed “similar to Steve Jobs,” I’m assuming that means fading hair, a black shirt and Levi’s. Also the rings were delivered tied to a white first gen iPod. They were originally going to have the couple’s dog bring the rings but he was too excited.

The minister (this was his first wedding) can be heard saying:

“…we’re here tonight not only to look for new iPhone cases but to participate and witness a special ceremony of marriage. Which is a means of establishing a new home and embarking on this journey of the heart. Steve Jobs once said and I quote ‘You have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something – your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever.” These dots are what have brought this couple together and what will guide them henceforth.”

 

 

The ceremony took place 1 minute after midnight and was not a planned thing with the Apple store. It was nice of the employees to allow this. I’m not sure what the couple would have done otherwise. Another thing to note is that the below video was shot on the cell phone of the local hot dog vendor. Is there a place that you would be willing to marry your love that is nontraditional and tied to something retail?
