The 7 Weirdest Things People Have Tried to Marry
Here’s probably one of the weirdest things you’re ever going to see on our wedding blog. The following people decided to approach marriage in a, well, non-traditional way.
Man Marries Himself – Zhuhai City, China
Liu Ye is fed up with what is considered real and in order to prove it went ahead and married himself. Well actually a life-sized foam cut-out of himself dressed as a bride. Ye went on to explain, “There are many reasons for marrying myself, but mainly to express my dissatisfaction with reality. This marriage makes me whole again. My definition of marriage is different from others.”
He had an entire ceremony with over 100 guests. He even had a traditional bridesmaid, groomsman, and bowed to his ancestors and senior guests for their blessings. He admitted at the end of the ceremony that he’s “maybe a bit narcissistic.”

Man Marries His Own Daughter – London, England
Jelili Adesanya, a Nigerian national, married his own daughter so that she could receive a visa and remain in Britain. This feat was pulled off all with the knowledge of the ministers who executed it and who apparently turned a blind eye.
Adesanya, 54, has lived in the UK for over 30 years and has a British passport. In an attempt to have his daughter, her spouse and their four boys move from Nigeria to be with him he concocted this scheme. He fabricated an entire fake ceremony replete with photographs of the “couple” to convince immigration officials that his daughter, Karimotu Adenike, was actually his wife. With this “proof” they were able to get her access to live in the UK. Once all the paperwork is completed they will file for divorce at which point Karimotu will be able to remarry her husband who will also then be allowed to live in the UK, of course bringing all their children with him.
Oddly enough, British officials were notified of their plan well over two years ago and did not take it upon themselves to put an end to it.

I wasn’t freaked out, as it just felt so natural, but I didn’t tell anyone about it because I knew it wasn’t ‘normal’ to have feelings for a fairground ride.
“I love him as much as women love their husbands and know we’ll be together forever,†she said.
She travels over 160 miles to visit him almost a dozen times a year and rides him over 50 times each trip. She even sleeps with a picture of him posted above her bed and brings his spare nuts and bolts around with her. She says that she feels a physical and spiritual relationship between the two of them. She also adds that although she has received taunts from some people, her friends and family have been supportive of her. “I’m not hurting anyone and I can’t help it,” she said. “It’s a part of who I am.â€

Strikingly, her “husband” was not present and a brass replica was used in his stead. There was a large feast held after the hour long wedding.
She stated, “Though snakes cannot speak nor understand, we communicate in a peculiar way. Whenever I put milk near the ant hill where the Cobra lives, it always comes out to drink. I always get to see it every time I go near the ant hill. It has never harmed me.”

Getting permission from Cindy’s trainer, who spoke it over with the dolphin, she got the go ahead to have the ceremony. The ceremony was sealed with a kiss and a cheering crowd. Afterward the procession was treated to some mackerel. Guests then threw the bride into the water to be with her new partner.

Those previous “objects of her eye” are no match to the love she has for the Eiffel Tower. At a small intimate ceremony with a few close friends, Erika swore to love, honor and obey her new husband. She has changed her surname to Eiffel to show her devotion.
She suffers from what is referred to as objectum sexuality. “I just don’t understand how some people can bring someone into the world like a child – an object – and then not love them,” she said. “If I am the way I am today because of everything that happened to me, then I’m alright with it,” she goes on to say. “I wouldn’t change who I am now.”

Sal 9000 was asked if his new bride was his dream woman and his response was, “Yes, she is. Her character changes to my liking as we talk and travel to different places. I love this character, not a machine.” He goes on to explain why he feels she is better than a human wife, “She doesn’t get angry if I’m late in replying to her.
