Wonderful idea! I think couples should use their wedding as an opportunity to make a personal stagtement..and that’s to give to a charity in lieu of a wedding favor.

Wow, that is so wonderful, it’s so refreshing to hear that people would be selfless enough to give of their wedding fund to help those in need. Kudos to them!

I’m sure this comment will get hated on, but sit and think about it after reading. While donating to Haiti amidst this country’s devastation is a wonderful thing; This is a complete publicity ploy rendered by this couple to look good and get media coverage so vendors will donate back to them, giving this couple the ultimate wedding they otherwise could not afford.

Josh- I disagree. You don’t know those people, and even if they were doing it for the reasons you suggested, at least it continues to raise awareness to a cause. You don’t think?

What a couple of idiots looking for their 15 minutes of fame. Americans, you have ALL donated to Haiti. Obama has pledged $100,000,000 to Haiti for relief. That is your money. There are Americans on the street today who are starving and homeless and could use your donations. Why not help them first?

How about donating to Vietnam veterans who have been all but forgotten about? Those who never got the proper treatment from their government when they returned.

Last, but not least, why are we helping out a nation that is filled with violent criminals? A nation that had a GDP larger than the original 13 colonies combined. A nation that executed every last white settler that was there, and thus has the worst economy in the North Atlantic region of the world.

    Help our own first.
