Video Game Wedding Invitation is Geekiest Ever

By posted March 5, 2010, 2:00 pm | Comments: 0

Soon to be wed Darina and Niko have released a fully playable 8-bit video game as their wedding invitation (you can even download and play it yourself if you’d like). The super geeky, utterly nerdy but extremely awesome invitations come in custom jewel cases replete with an informational booklet as seen in the above picture. The CD-ROM also includes an accompanying soundtrack (sung by the couple) and outtakes. The bride explains (via OffbeatBride):

“We knew that we didn’t want standard paper invites. We wanted something for people to keep and remember. We are geeks. We love video games. Why not have a video game invite?”

What makes these even more epic is that in order to see the details of the wedding (date, location, etc.) you must defeat the level. How awesome are these and how awesome is this couple? The game features two versions, one played as the bride and one as the groom. The intro screen has character descriptions “Darina: talks a lot and very fast, is an amazing singer and and a 1337 kick boxer” and “Niko: does not talk quite as often as fast, quotes Star Wars and is mostly harmless.” You also have your choice of German or English.

The story so far: In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move. About 13.7 billion years later it is a truth universally acknowledged that a single woman in possession of an awesome party dress must be in want of a husband. But as it happens, a malicious fiend has kidnapped the very man she wants. Help Darina to save Niko from the claws of the vicious monster!

Phoebe: Because she’s your lobster. Chandler: Oh, she’s goin’ somewhere. Phoebe:…
