Stunning and Symbolic Trash the Dress Anniversary Photo Shoot by Shaun King Photography

By posted October 24, 2012, 9:13 am | Comments: 0

Danielle and Shaun of Shaun King Photography are a Raleigh, North Carolina-based husband and wife photography team featured on SnapKnot who recently shared an awesome “Trash the Dress” story. Celebrating 5 years of marriage and a special reason to look forward to the next 5, Christine and Jason’s Trash the Dress Anniversary Photo Shoot was not only beautifully symbolic, but caught a few eyes…

“Christine decided to trash her wedding dress on her five year anniversary with Jason. She picked Myrtle Beach where he proposed to her. She also found out she was pregnant only weeks before her five year anniversary. Her trash the dress photographs represent a transition in her life – the stability and reliability that comes with five successful years of marriage, and the instability and excitement that will be ushered in by her baby boy. In order to get some of these golden images, we needed to arrive on the beach during the earliest part of the morning, as Christine and Jason began to snuggle into a hug and kiss as waves crashed on them, a crowd of onlookers slowed to watch and take their own spontaneous photographs.”

Wedding Inspiration: Rustic Campsite Wedding

By posted November 12, 2010, 11:47 am | Comments: 1

I’m not quite the outdoorsy type, so I always envy couples that seem to effortlessly pull off beautiful outdoor weddings. And since fall wedding photos are my favorite, I can’t help but love this outdoor, rustic campsite wedding.

My favorite details include the tin camp dinnerware, the lantern, green pine and white flower arrangements, and last but definitely not least, that lovely, delicious, scrumptious looking s’more.

Edgy Black & White Photography Inspiration: Abigail & Jeronimo

By posted September 13, 2010, 12:36 pm | Comments: 0

I love beautiful black and white wedding photography. I am a sucker for the classic look of muted and subtle tones. But one thing is for sure: black and white photography can sometimes border on boring.

I have to commend Abigail and Jeronimo for taking it to the next level. These photos truly stand out – definitely not boring. In addition to still achieving that classic and pretty look, these images give such a cool and chill vibe. The offset of tattoos, big jewelry, and hip style makes these simple photos anything but black-and-white cliche.

Wonderful Warehouse Wedding

By posted July 29, 2010, 10:40 am | Comments: 0

Danielle and John were married at The Metropolitan Building in Long Island City, New York recently and Style Me Pretty has an excellent post with a gallery of photos by Weddings by V&E. It’s always refreshing to see a couple get married in a unique venue like this.

This wedding was a small affair designed by the bride and groom on a budget. The bride is an artist and an avid antique collector. The Metropolitan building was a perfect fit since it is also houses antique furniture that may be used during the wedding. The bride’s mother created her cake topper (the knit birds) and her veil. The bride created non-floral centerpieces to save money by using birds’ nests, branches, little birds, stones, birch bark and candles. Birds became a theme throughout the wedding…robin’s egg blue was used on the stones, as well as on the eggs that sat in a bed of moss for escort cards. A large alcove became an installation of antique birdcages and candles. Her invitations were hand-drawn, and used birds as well.
