1. Have a Vision

If you have a clear picture of what you want your wedding to look like, it’ll be that much easier to make it a reality. Do you envision getting married in an intimate garden setting or in a grand ballroom? Is your dream reception made up of close family and friends or is it a 500-plus event? Before you make any appointments or pay a single deposit, get your creative juices flowing. Scan bridal magazines and then jot down details of what your perfect day would look like. Knowing the big picture of what you want will prevent you from becoming overwhelmed by details during the planning process.

Perfect Palette: Sweet Vintage Pink

By posted August 16, 2010, 10:58 am | Comments: 0

Thinking pink for your wedding? I am very fond of this color palette – it will fulfill any girly-girl wedding dreams you might have. While these colors are feminine and flirty, they are subtle and muted. And while perfectly vintage and whimsical, this color palette is perfect for any bride.

Even better, the greens and tans play off nature, adding perfectly to an outdoor wedding. A bouquet of soft roses or light peonies would be the perfect touch.

Inspiration

Sometimes inspiration from bridal magazines can feel a little out of reach. The Wedding Details & Ideas group is one of my favorite spots on Flickr. Aren’t these dishes of strawberries and color-grouped M&Ms just great?

I have to admit the Wedding and Event Inspiration Boards group is a little bit of inspiration overload, but there are too many great ideas there to ignore. Images in inspiration boards are sometimes too small to see well, but most Flickr photos have a small “ALL SIZES” button above the image that will let you see all the details even bigger.

Be sure to use the group-specific search box at the top to find specific ideas. Upon a quick search of “retro” inspiration boards, I found this great yellow and aqua blue board. Every Flickr group has a message board. Feel free to take advantage of the advice from other Flickr-ing brides.
